Whether you’re tapering down for Marathon Monday or just want to join a free, fun run, Runner’s World editors are hosting a “Shakeout Run” at the Chestnut Hill Reservoir Friday, April 18 (Good Friday).

The event starts at 6 p.m. and is totally free. There are three distances runners can choose from: 1.5 miles, 3 miles, and 4.5 miles (each loop of the reservoir is 1.5 miles). This makes the event a run that truly is for all. Everyone can get expert running advice and be around a group of people who really love running.

Runners will meet at the parking area west of where Beacon Street and Chestnut Hill Road intersect (400 Chestnut Hill Ave. in Brookline).

Event organizers estimate that there will be 200 to 300 runners attending. The run will be led by the Runner’s World “Mayor of Running,” Bart Yasso. The first 200 people who sign up will receive a dash pack.
