A New Juice Bar Opens in South Boston

The Daily Squeeze is located on Southie's main strip.

Many Southie residents who have been walking along the main drag over the past six months have stopped to take the above image—myself included. A juicery! In Southie! Now, I’m aware that Nourish Your Soul has been open for some time along Fort Point’s most southern edge at the Channel Center, but that’s still a hike down A Street, and a far trek for those who don’t live in the Lower End.

The Daily Squeeze is the first juice-only bar to come to Southie proper (the adorable Cafe Arpeggio across the street makes smoothies, but it’s not a juice bar). Southie resident and owner Heather Carbone, who also owns Urban Art Bar further down Broadway, has decided to open a second location inside that business in just the next few weeks. So that’s right, two juice bars are opening in Southie in the same month.

The menu features a variety of juices and smoothies—all dairy- and gluten-free—plus a selection of add-ons such as goji berries, chia seeds, whey protein, hemp seeds, and more. A 16-ounce juice will cost you $8, while smoothies start at $7. “Cleanses” are also available in one, three, or five day packages starting at $44.

Menus options include unique items like the 02127 (chia seeds, banana, acai berry juice, almond milk, honey, and vanilla); the Green Monster (kale, green apple, spinach, cucumber, celery, and parsley); the Namaste (red apple, orange, carrot, sweet potato, lemon, cinnamon); and more.

While some people may balk at the number of yoga studios and juice bars opening in Southie, if you’re anything like me, then you’re actually thrilled.
