When the news broke in September 2013 that SoulCycle was finally coming to Massachusetts, there was a collective gasp (read: shriek) heard round the fitness world. But then came the location news: The indoor cycling studio that started it all would be opening in Chestnut Hill—not Boston. Suburbanites rejoiced; City dwellers shuddered.

While many of us have traveled the traffic-filled seven miles from Boston to find our souls—which can easily take at least 30 minutes on a good day—many urbanites, especially those without cars, were left wanting.

Well the wait is over. We can now confirm that SoulCycle is opening in Boston.

Gabby Etrog Cohen, vice president of public relations and brand strategy, has confirmed to Boston that SoulCycle has signed a lease at 500 Boylston Street in the Back Bay.

“We’ve been searching for a second location in Boston for a long time and finally found the perfect studio location,” she says.

Etrog Cohen says that they are hoping for a mid-September opening. The new studio will have a whopping 58 bikes, ideal for the highly-trafficked spot near Copley Square.

Let the shrieking begin.
