Chellana Dinsmore Kwas is also a professor, a former Pats cheerleader, and a group fitness instructor.

We don’t need to tell you that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. In this series, we’re asking some of Boston’s top doctors, fitness pros, and dietitians for a sneak peek into their kitchens, so we can see what’s on their breakfast table.

Chellana Dinsmore Kwas

Claim to fame: This woman is almost certainly in better shape than you. Her list of accomplishments is long: She’s the reigning Miss Fitness Universe Open champion, a former cheerleader or dancer for four professional sports teams, an adjunct professor of human biology at Dean College, the owner of Dancer’s Physique, and an instructor at Life Time Fitness in Framingham.

What she ate: Scrambled eggs (one full egg and three egg whites); oatmeal with fresh apple, cinnamon, and vanilla; coffee; and lots of water.

Why she chose it: Despite her lengthy list of fitness feats, Kwas admits that nutrition wasn’t always her strong suit. “For years, I would grab a quick carb and coffee for breakfast, and I just accepted that I would always feel groggy in the morning,” she remembers. “Once I made the effort to eat a healthy balanced breakfast, I felt significantly better and had much more productive mornings. I always try to have eggs for breakfast as I’ve noticed the healthy protein intake helps balance my blood sugar levels.”
