Health and Fitness Businesses Reopen on Boylston Street
As part of Mayor Menino's 'Boylston Strong' effort, head to these newly reopened studios, gyms, and shops.
After more than a week of eerie quiet, Boylston Street reopened fully to the public in the early hours of this morning, with many of the street’s businesses returning to normal and welcoming clients and customers back. Twitter and Facebook were filled with posts from business owners and customers alike thrilled to be allowed back into the heart of the Back Bay, and the city of Boston got in on the celebrating, too. To recognize how exciting this return to normal life is, Mayor Menino announced his “Boylston Strong” effort today. He encouraged citizens to bolster business in the Back Bay by shopping and dining on Boylston street in a showing of support and solidarity. Menino says in the announcement:
“As of today, these businesses that have been off limits since Marathon Monday are open and are looking forward to receiving and serving their customers once again. To support the efforts of our local businesses through the end of the weekend, the City of Boston is offering free parking at meters on Boylston Street and throughout the entire Back Bay.”
If you ask us, there’s never been a better time to try out the numerous fitness studios, gyms, sports stores, and spas Boylston has to offer, most of which opened back up this morning and are operating on their normal schedules. If you’re looking for a way to get healthy, pamper yourself a bit, and show your support at the same time, check out these newly-reopened health and fitness outposts on Boylston.
