Boston Kung Fu Tai Chi Institute
You can learn the popular Chinese contact sport, San Shou here. Also known as Chinese kickboxing, these classes involve learning fundamental moves, bagwork, body conditioning, and coordination. At the intermediate level, you’ll learn to box with a sparring partner and hone your reaction time and coordination skills. San Shou is considered to be an excellent form of self-defense training, as well as a great cardio workout.

Located in the middle of Central Square, CW Taekwondo offers cardio kickboxing classes three times a week: Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Fridays from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. These classes are taught by martial arts masters who will focus on perfecting your technique and your stance, in addition to helping you get a great workout. You can choose from a higher or lower level class depending on your experience with kickboxing, and this class includes a jump roping portion. You can bring your own rope or rent one at the gym.
