Summer To Do: Poolside Rooftop Yoga
Practice your postures on the roof at the Colonnade Hotel.
A rooftop pool—any rooftop pool—in the city of Boston is an amazing and unique feature. But the Colonnade Hotel’s rooftop pool was built with the hotel in the early 1970s and was definitely in need of a renovation. So, while the rest of us were hibernating in the Polar Vortex this winter, the Colonnade was quietly upgrading its roof.
The new spot features private rental cabanas, new seating, bamboo flooring, lush landscaping, and new 12-seat, full service bar. To take advantage of the new setting, the Colonnade will offer roof top yoga in a weekly morning practice taught by OmGal’s Rebecca Pacheco.
“As the city’s only outdoor roof top pool, we have developed a loyal following of hotel guests and Bostonians looking to swim, relax and enjoy the Boston skyline,” says The Colonnade Hotel Vice President and Managing Director, David Colella. “This summer we’ve kicked it up a notch with a sophisticated redesign and full service bar. We look forward to an incredible season.”
The class will be called, “Sunrise Salutations” and begins Wednesday, June 25. All classes are from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. The Vinyasa class is all-levels and will be complete with sun salutations to greet the day, a class to strengthen body, mind, and soul, and a closing meditation session before you head back out to the city bustle.
$15 per class, $30 for class and pool day pass, free for hotel guests; RSVPs are required at least 24 hours in advance at sunrise-salutations.eventbrite.com; The Colonnade Hotel, 120 Huntington Avenue, 617-424-7000; colonnadehotel.com
