This show presents current work by the six 2006 recipients of the prestigious Traveling Scholarships awarded annually by the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (SMFA). -Bill Durgin's photographs explore the shape of the human body in all its expressive and sculptural possibilities. -Will Pappenheimer creates alternative methods for interpreting digital information in today's hi-tech world. -Laurel Sparks' collage-inspired work investigates how the beautiful and the grotesque can coexist within a single object. -Matthew Clay Freeman examines the misleading distinction between man and nature. -Leslie Hall's work celebrates her fabulousness—and rising internet fame—as a Midwestern Diva of satirical rap and installation art. -Elizabeth H. Wallace's works on vellum explore points of encounter between opposite forces.
