While most of America's cities were going up in flames the night after Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated, Boston remained riot-free. Why? Thanks to James Brown, who chose to televise his long-scheduled concert at the Boston Garden live, in order to encourage his fans to stay home and watch the concert on WGBH. Forty years later, VH1 Rock Docs presents the documentary, The Night James Brown Saved Boston, in honor of the anniversary.
