Spring session — November 15

Internship Description: Boston magazine editorial interns do not make copies and get coffee. Our interns work as a team on at least one major research project. During the term, each intern will have the opportunity to write bylined articles for publication in both print and online forms. Interns also do fact checking and learn other facets of publishing. Research assignments are an integral and important part of this internship. This research is no different than that conducted by full-time staff. We insist that it be done accurately and with attention to detail.
We require that interns make a serious, concerted effort to treat this internship as they would a paid position. We do not accept loose schedules, tardiness, or a minimal work ethic. If you are looking to breeze your way through an internship, this is not the place for you. The work we give interns holds the same weight as work we give our top editors, and we expect the same level of quality and commitment.
How to apply: Send a cover letter and resume, as well as three writing samples to editinternships@bostonmagazine.com (online and print clips are acceptable), specifying in subject line which application you are applying to. Mailed applications will not be considered, nor will applications that do not specify internship target (editorial, online, etc) in subject. No phone calls.
