Behind the Scenes: Joe Lauzon's Photo-Op

Local MMA fighter Joe Lauzon is no stranger to the photo shoot scene — I mean, let’s be real: how many times can you throw down in the UFC before you get used to a camera in your face? Shooting for this story though, marked the first time the Boston magazine photo team — accompanied by NY sports photographer Laura Barisonzi — had ever swung by the Bridgewater gym. The experience, says Lauzon, was about on par with what he’s dealt with for outlets like UFC Magazine. But for those of us who haven’t been on MMA photo trip before (that includes me), the below series gives you all you need to know about how exactly the story art landed that pitch-perfect lighting and glistening fake sweat (the key: baby oil).
