Tim Cahill's Co-Defendent Found Not Guilty

Cahill's still on the hook for now.

A  jury acquitted former Tim Cahill campaign manager Scott Campbell of two corruption charges Tuesday, but they’ll have to keep deliberating to come to a conclusion on the charges against Cahill himself. The state accused the men of conspiring to run glowing ads about the Massachusetts lottery to boost Cahill’s independent bid for governor. The jury took a full six days to come to this partial conclusion, and the judge ordered them back with an order to decide on Cahill, or what the Globe’s Michael Levenson characterizes as “the last step usually taken before a mistrial is declared due to a deadlocked jury.” [Twitter/Boston.com]
