First he came to Boston to thank the first responders and medical staff for their efforts in helping the victims of the marathon attack. Then he spent some time with those hurt by the blasts. A few days later, Kevin Spacey showed his funnier side by hopping into a woman’s photo while out for a jog near the Public Garden. And now, in his latest show of support, the Academy Award-winning actor showed his love for the city by adopting a puppy and naming it “Boston.”

On Saturday night, after Tweeting pictures of a dog’s paw, and then tail, Spacey told his more than 2 million followers that he had taken in a new “family member” and named it after a place he admires. “New member of my family. Her name is Boston in honor of the city,” Spacey wrote on Twitter. The Tweet was accompanied by four photos spliced together of a puppy affectionately laying on top of the actor, licking his face, and pawing at him for attention.

Since the Boston Marathon bombings on April 15, Spacey has consistently used his social media account to get people involved in helping out in Boston by donating to the city’s One Fund. The actor has said all of his efforts are based on the fact that he has spent so much time in, and around, Boston during his career, making films.
