Citizens Disconnect: Plow This Snow!

A roundup of the most amusing requests for city services in the past week.

With the Citizens Connect app and website, Boston allows its residents to take a picture of a problem, send it to the city along with their precise location, and request help. The site is filled with complaints about trash on the sidewalk, potholes, and dead trees. It also contains the occasional amusement. Welcome to “Citizens Disconnect,” the first in a series wherein we round up our favorite few from the past week:

Where are all the snowplows?

plow

Concerned citizen: “WHERE ARE ALL THE PLOWS!!?? Jeeeeeezzzz.”

City response: “Case Invalid.”

That there is a joke about how Boston had a disgusting, horrible heat wave. Haha… Sob. *Excuses himself to stand in front of the open freezer door.*

Can’t we do something about this iPhone epidemic.

phone

Concerned citizen: “Phone.”

City response: “Closed. Case Noted.”

Maybe next time he’ll just ask Siri for advice.

Strangest Graffiti of the Week

beauty is anna

Concerned citizen: Beauty is Anna.

City response: “Case Resolved. Done 7-22-13.”

Beauty was Anna after the city got through with it.

A watched tree never grows.

tree

Concerned citizen: “missing tree.”

City response: “Case Resolved. Planted spring 2013.”

These are trees, not chia pets, guys. Give it time.

It’s a hair salon infestation!

salon

Concerned citizen: “Lets see how many hair salons there are in Hyde park. I’m sure ill miss a few but you get the point.”

This person then submits five separate reports, each with a photo of a different Hyde Park hair salon.

City response: “Unable to determine service requested. please resubmit w/ more specific info.”

But on the final report, which for some reason includes this picture of a zoo animal …

… our concerned citizen writes, “Ill add some more salons tomorrow. There’s plenty.” Great, we’re looking forward to it.
