Citizens Disconnect: Campaign Cleanup

Your weekly roundup of complaints filed with the city's Citizens Connect app.

With the Citizens Connect app and website, Boston allows its residents to take a picture of a problem, send it to the city along with their precise location, and request help. The site is filled with complaints about trash on the sidewalk, potholes, and dead trees. It also contains the occasional oddity. Welcome to “Citizens Disconnect,” the third in a series wherein we round up our favorite few from the past week:

Campaign Cleanup

Concerned Citizen #1: “Sorry about the campaign Mike, I loved your commercial where you were running around the city handing out your plan… Is there anything in that plan to account for graffiti removal?”

City Response: “Closed. Case Resolved. Done(gm night power wash the sidewalk ).”

Good burn! Also, we did like that ad.

Concerned Citizen: “Typo on City website. Left navigation menu says “Autop Shop Inspection” under Inspectional Services where it should say “Auto Shop Inspection”. See attached photo.”

City Response: None.

This probably isn’t what the city had in mind when they wanted to crowd source issues around town. But hey, this doesn’t hurt.

Area Man Notices Hubway Years Later

Concerned Citizen: “Get rid of these stupid things! They are taking up valuable parking spaces. This is a high traffic area right in front of a busy store and Dunkin Donuts. Someone is going to get hurt! There is a parking lot 50 feet away with an area on the side off of the main street to place these bikes that no one wants to ride.”

City Response: None.

Um, sir, if there’s a parking lot around the corner … couldn’t the cars park there?

This Seems Like an Easily Resolved Issue

cd4

Concerned citizen: “chair in tree.”

City response: None.

This isn’t exactly a cat in an oak … This chair can’t be more than three feet off the ground.

Concerned Citizen: “Thank you for repaving Clarendon St! It made my week.”

City Response: None yet.

How sweet … brown noser.
