On March 26, a fast-moving fire raged through a Back Bay brownstone, taking the lives of Lieutenant Edward Walsh and Firefighter Michael Kennedy. Lieutenant Walsh left behind a wife and three children under the age of 10. Firefighter Kennedy was a Marine veteran. In the wake of the tragedy, friends and Boston community members set up several funds to benefit the victims’ families, as well as the 13 other injured firefighters. —Caroline Hatano
