Fenway Park to Host ‘Dog Day’ Event Tonight

Between Pablo Sandoval’s Instagram antics and a middling 34-43 record, which has the team only a half game out of the AL cellar, it’s becoming all too clear that another once-promising Red Sox season already looks to be “going to the dogs.”

Well then, with the team on the road in Toronto, we might as well let the dogs out. Tonight, man’s best friends will take over the ole’ ballpark during “Dog Day at Fenway.”

The Sox have teamed with event sponsor Nutrisource Super Premium Pet Foods to open the ever-so pristinely manicured dirt of Fenway’s warning track to fans and their canines from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. tonight—so if you’ve been looking for a way onto some of our city’s most hallowed ground, find the nearest pup, because here’s your chance.

In addition to a walk on the warning track, participants can also partake in photo opportunities in the home and visitor’s dugouts and in front of the Green Monster. A dog park will also be set up in the Gate E concourse, where you’ll find water bowls and activities. Admission to the event is $10, with children under 14 and dogs free of charge.

Given the current state of the Sox, it’ll probably be the most fun you have at Fenway all season.
