The Boston College Eagles celebrated Throwback Thursday this week by unveiling the uniforms they will wear while taking on Notre Dame when “The Holy War” comes to Fenway Park on November 21.

In stark contrast to Notre Dame’s all-green, quasi-futuristic uniforms, BC will celebrate the 30th anniversary of their 1985 Cotton Bowl victory with duds designed by Under Armor and inspired by the “Miracle in Miami,” which saw the Eagles edge-out 12th-ranked Miami in the final seconds on a miraculous Hail Mary pass from Natick’s favorite son, Doug Flutie.

The Eagles capped their 10-2 season by defeating Houston, 45-28, in the Cotton Bowl on New Year’s Day 1985.

The Eagles will wear a solid gold helmet and jersey with font similar to that worn by the 1985 team and a vintage BC logo on the shoulder to mimics the placement of the Cotton Bowl patch. The stripes formerly on the sleeves will appear on the Under Armor base-layer. The shade of gold is closer to that worn by Eagles teams of the late 80s.
