Shark Rescued in Chatham Last Year Thought Cape Was Pretty Nice, Returns

Jamison is reportedly considering a summer cottage in Yarmouth.

Jamison, the great white shark stranded and later rescued on a Chatham beach last summer, has returned to Cape Cod, in search of wayward seal or a good lobster roll—whichever comes first.

The Atlantic Great White Shark Conservancy announced Jamison’s return in a Facebook post Wednesday. Roughly a year after Chatham harbormasters Stuart Smith and Jason Holm, Dr. Greg Skomal of the Mass. Division of Marine Fisheries, and the conservancy helped rescue him, the seven-footer was detected near the Monomoy National Wildlife Refuge.

The conservancy said it would provide updates on Jamison, who was tagged before being released back into the water last year, throughout the summer. The not-so-little guy even has his own Twitter account: @JamisonShark.
