Update Tuesday, November 8, 9:41 a.m.: The Globe is reporting that Tom Brady did in fact vote Monday night in Brookline, according to town election officials. He cast an absentee ballot around 8 p.m., the town clerk says, a few hours after his appearance on the Kirk & Callahan radio show. On the show, he’d said he hadn’t voted yet, which had led to speculation about the truth in Trump’s claims in New Hampshire, given that early voting wrapped up in Massachusetts on Friday. This may come as a surprise to Gisele Bündchen, who replied “NO!” on Instagram when asked if the couple supported the GOP nominee.

What’s more, Steve Burton at WBZ tweeted this morning that Bill Belichick did in fact write that very Trump-ish letter that the candidate read to the crowd.

What a year.
Earlier: At a rally in New Hampshire Monday night, Donald Trump announced two big, last-minute endorsements from Patriots Nation.

Tom Brady called and said he cast his vote for him, Trump told his audience in Manchester, and permitted him to say so to the Granite State crowd.

“Tom Brady, great guy, great guy. Great guy, great friend of mine—great, great champion. Unbelievable winner,” Trump said. “He called today and he said, ‘Donald, I support you, you’re my friend, and I voted for you.’”

And if that wasn’t unlikely enough—for an athlete who has long supported his friend’s bid for the White House but for weeks has been skittish about discussing his support for Trump—the candidate says Bill Belichick sent him a glowing letter of endorsement.

He read the letter from the podium. Here’s what Belichick wrote to him, according to Trump:

Congratulations on a tremendous campaign. You have dealt with an unbelievable slanted and negative media and have come out beautifully. You’ve proved to be the ultimate competitor and fighter. Your leadership is amazing. I have always had tremendous respect for you, but the toughness and perseverance you have displayed over the past year is remarkable. Hopefully tomorrow’s elections results will give the opportunity to Make America Great Again. Best wishes for great results tomorrow, Bill Belichick.

Trump says he asked the notoriously tight-lipped head coach if he could read the note. Trump says he got his permission, but not before Belichick offered to rewrite it, and made it even better.

“I figured he was going to take all the good things out, like most gutless people do. Gutless,” he said. “But he’s the opposite. He’s a champ. So he sent me the new letter and it was much better. It was stronger.”
