Less than 24 hours after Donald Trump’s improbable upset over Hillary Clinton, people in Boston will take to the streets in protest.

A “Boston Against Trump” rally, organized by Boston Socialist Students, Boston Socialist Alternative, and the Boston Movement of the 99 Percent, will gather at the State House Wednesday night at 7. The demonstration is expected to rebuke Trump’s calls for a Mexican border wall, as well as rape culture, while demanding fully funded healthcare and free college tuition.

“We need to immediately start fighting against him,” the event’s Facebook page says. “We need to build a movement to fight racism, sexism, and Islamophobia!”

Another demonstration will take place in the Boston Common from 4-6:30 p.m. Wednesday, showing solidarity with the Native American people of the Standing Rock reservation as they protest the controversial Dakota Access Pipeline.

More than 2,500 people have already RSVP’d as going to the anti-Trump rally as of noon Wednesday. Another 6,400 are “interested.”
