The trophies started at South Station during the morning commute, then joined Sox players (and Duck boats!) for stops at hospitals and businesses.

Talk about a morning commute: Today, the 2004, 2007, and 2013 trophies were on display at South Station starting at 7:30 a.m., so that riders passing through the city’s busiest transit hub could start their day off really right and snap a photo standing next to them. (Maybe high time for that MBTA late pass system after all?)

As part of the “One Duck Open Sleigh” tour, the trophies then went on the move around 9:30 a.m. with players, Wally the Green Monster, and Duck Boats in tow. The tour is making stops at Massachusetts General Hospital for Children and Shriners Hospital for Children, loaded with Sox memorabilia and tickets to catch a game next season at Fenway Park.

The tour finished up Thursday afternoon when the “One Duck Open Sleigh” brought the trophies to three different offices selected through a social media contest—using the hashtag #WeWantTheTrophies—to determine its final destinations. “The winning businesses [received] a professional office-wide holiday photo with the trophies and Wally, 20 tickets to a 2014 Red Sox game and World Series merchandise,” according to a press release.

The winners of the social media contest were Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay, WayFair, and Twitter’s “East Coast headquarters” in Boston.

Wally and the trophies showed up at various schools around Boston on Wednesday, responding to people who tweeted at the team using the hashtag. On Friday, members of the team will continue their trek around the city by stopping at several other hospitals, including the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s Jimmy Fund Clinic, Children’s Hospital, and the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

Looking at those trophies just never gets old. Here, check out some more photos from this morning at South Station:

… others paused to stand in a long, but fairly fast-moving line for photos with Wally and the trophies.

Of course, Wally was extra attentive to young fans who stopped to take photos with him:
