The Melania Trump Plagiarism Case Is Nothing Like Obama and Patrick’s

There’s no real comparison between the RNC fiasco and Barack Obama’s re-packaging of Deval Patrick’s words in 2008.

Well, somebody goofed.

The big story that has everyone in a tizzy after last night’s carnival in Cleveland has brought us another example of one of the world’s favorite targets of scorn: the speech-giving plagiarist.

Melania Trump’s Monday night address to the Republican National Convention, it became clear pretty quickly, had passages in it lifted from a similar one given by then-soon-to-be First Lady Michelle Obama in 2008.

In case you missed it:

Here we go again. This isn’t the first time this sort of thing has been an issue. See, for reference, the Guardian’s helpful “A short history of political plagiarism” or CNN’s “From speeches to Ph.D.’s: Politicians called out for copying.” Vice President Joe Biden, former Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, and neurosurgeon and former GOP presidential candidate Ben Carson have all been in this most embarrassing of spotlights.

Of course, we’ve been through this in Massachusetts before, too, although the circumstances were very, very different. Flashback to 2008, when Hillary Clinton’s campaign, then battling with Barack Obama’s for the Democratic nomination for president, accused Obama of stealing lines from then-Governor Deval Patrick.

A rundown, as presented by CBS at the time:

Obama’s speech Saturday sounded similar to a speech given by Patrick in his 2006 campaign for governor, according to the video.

“Don’t tell me words don’t matter! ‘I have a dream.’ Just words. ‘We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.’ Just words. ‘We have nothing to fear but fear itself.’ Just words, just speeches,” Obama said in his speech.

Patrick used many of the same phrases in his speech.

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal’-just words. Just words. ‘We have nothing to fear but fear itself’-just words. ‘Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country’-just words. ‘I have a dream’-just words,” Patrick said in 2006.

Patrick, a friend and booster of the candidate, would later come to Obama’s aid and dismiss the allegations as just another pointless line of attack. Patrick even encouraged him to use the phrases, Obama said at the time, while claiming to regret not citing his source.

“I was on the stump, and he had suggested that we use these lines. I thought they were good lines. I’m sure I should have—didn’t this time,” Obama said, according to CBS.

In 2008, Slate’s Jack Shafer noted how well Obama fared against Clinton’s accusations. A lot of that had to do with the Obama-Patrick relationship and their similarities. He wrote:

Patrick and Obama, who rely on the same campaign wizard, David Axelrod, have shared enough campaign rhetoric to be declared separated at birth, as this Boston Globe article from 10 months ago shows. Here’s additional evidence of Patrick-Obama sharing from Jake Tapper’s blog. As someone who has endorsed and advised Obama, Patrick occupies the position of a campaign volunteer or even a collaborator. Given the conventions of campaign oratory, I’d have a hard time diagnosing plagiarism on Obama’s part—as opposed to poor form—unless Patrick alleged that his friend fleeced his words, which he hasn’t and won’t.

It’s probably safe to say Melania Trump can expect no such help from the Obamas. And time will tell whether the Trump camp’s reaction, crying foul about Clinton, will help or hurt things.

“Once again, this is an example of when a woman threatens Hillary Clinton, she seeks to demean her and take her down,” campaign manager Paul Manafort told CNN this morning, according to Vox.

“Nice try, not true, @PaulManafort,” tweeted Clinton communications director Jennifer Palmieri. “Blaming Hillary Clinton isn’t the answer for ever Trump campaign problem.”

Another very important question worth considering: Was the Melania Trump speech actually just the result of world-class trolling, given that it also harbors what is basically barely concealed Rick Rolling?

Exhibit A:

  • Vinnie S

Trump should be careful. Likely a Clinton plant pretending to be helping Trump purposely slipped in the damaging text. It’s the Democratic way , they can’t win honestly with facts , so much as Harry Reid deliberately lying about Romneys taxes. They will seek to conspire by any means necessary to steal this election.

    • lenabenas21

      Facts and Trump don’t mix…

    • http://bannedsorcery.com/ Bryce Anderson

But the Trump campaign is on record saying that Mrs. Trump wrote the speech herself, with “very little help.” Further, they’re saying that nobody will be fired over it.

Your conspiracy theory flies in the face of the facts.

Let me propose a more straightforward theory: Malinia Trump is lazy, unethical, and a lousy speechwriter. The end.

And hey, speaking of candidate tax returns, Trump is still refusing to release his own taxes, and can’t give a reasonable answer as to why. What’s he hiding?

      • Jonathan Wong

Very few politicians write their own speeches and the first lady certainly doesn’t write her own either.

        • http://richardstanford.com/ Richard Stanford

She also doesn’t appear go on national TV bragging about how she writes damn near all of her own speeches though. Be fair.

          • Nevershrillary

You realize that she only used a few lines from Michelle’s speech right. It wasn’t the entire speech. Which was over 10 minutes. Those lines are also very generic. Just about every validictorian at every graduation ever has said similar things. It’s like you saying God bless America and then someone else claiming you stole that line from them.

          • Daniel

They were verbatim and in the same order as Michelle Obama’s, line for line. That’s no coincidence, and you know it. One line, ok. Did you even watch the clip? Statistically it would be improbable to the absurd for it to have just “happened”. She got caught plagiarizing, and should own up to it. I find it hilarious that the GOP delegates were cheering wildly for Michelle Obama’s words, though. That was delightful.

          • Nevershrillary

Did I deny it? Did you even read my comment. I find it amazing that you and others like you are more concerned about a speech writer lifting a couple of generic lines from a speech than hillary Clinton deleting thousands of state owned emails and putting our national security at risk. Keep living in denial. Maybe Loretta lynch should have an fbi investigation into her plagiarism. I’m sure she could find something to prosecute for.

          • southshoreasfarasIcouldgo

we live in a post-factual America. For example if asked, I’m sure Barack would claim that all the posters on this forum are over 30 and employed.

          • Jacob

Thank You! If the LibTurds could read, your post would certainly convince them that this whole Melania speech issue is a non-issue in comparison to Hillary’s foibles as SoS.

          • Nevershrillary

Nothing will convince them. Hillary really could shoot someone in the middle of 5th Avenue on national television and her supporters would blame it on the Republicans

          • Daniel

No, you just tried to diminish it by claiming the words were generic, or common enough to be possibly accidental. They weren’t. Is it a huge game changer? No. But it is indicative of the general quality of the campaign and that rather than own up to it they simply blustered and dodged.

And how do you know what other issues I or others might be concerned with?

          • Jacob

You sir have accurately picked the pepper out of the ant sh!t

          • Nevershrillary

You be fair. The lines used were very generic. They were also a very small part of the entire speech. Reading the headlines you would think that she used Michelle’s entire speech. Hillary fanatics were looking for a distraction and they found one and of course the biased media is suckling it up. Rudy had a great speech attacking the policies of Obama and Hillary but we hear nothing about that. Good job. You fooled the people again with insignificant nonsense.

    • Bendy Bentley

Yo Vinnie! If the Trump campaign doesn’t vet people any better than that, they deserve what they get. Besides, Melania claimed before the speech that she wrote the speech. She is either a thief or a liar, or both.

      • Jacob

Spoken like a snake in the grass- it takes one to know one!

    • Renfield

Vinnie, Vinnie. Do you know how you sound?

    • cottontail

      Paranoid…..

  • Martha Smith

If Hillary Clinton can make Melania Trump steal ideas from Michelle Obama (rather than Trump talking about her own upbringing and motherhood), just think what she can accomplish in the White House! ISIS, look out!

    • Josh

Four more years of corruption, baby! Can’t wait to see how many economic safeguards she repeals for her corporate handlers. Let’s hope fracking and the Keystone XL pipeline are easy for her to pass after she nominates some Supreme Court Justices that’ll accept funds from Wall Street lobbyists. I mean, she did so well when she outsourced American productivity with NAFTA, brought on the recession by repealing Glass-Steagal, and gave pharmaceutical companies global immunity and the ability to sue poor countries that don’t want to allow them to market their overpriced brand-name drugs with the TPP. So what if that African mother has to pay $8000 for one HIV/AIDS treatment because generic drug companies aren’t allowed to cut costs by basing testing of the same chemical compound on big pharma trials? All the more money for Hillary’s USA (not that trickle down works and we’ll ever get the benefits).

Oh, wait…she avoids paying taxes by renting office space with Donald Trump in Delaware? She helped cut Haitian women’s wages to $0.31 an hour? She’s named in the Panama papers for storing assets in offshore tax havens? She voted in favor of the for-profit war in the Middle East and has taken $40 million in donations from Saudi Arabia and other countries on the Arabian Peninsula? She marked $10.7 million down on her 2014 tax returns from Wall Street speeches, but for some reason wants to tax those same people and break up big banks after hearing that those progressive ideas Bernie Sanders has been talking about for decades were resonating with poor Americans? She’s always supported a minimum wage of $15 an hour, despite saying she only supported a pay raise to $12, or $10, or none at all since it wasn’t part of her original campaign platform? She’s always supported gay marriage, except when she gave a speech about how she didn’t accept gay marriage, and responding in an interview that she doesn’t think gay marriage should be legal?

Well, I have to give it to Hillary Clinton, at least. She really knows how to plagiarize Bernie Sanders’ progressive platform. Hillary’s mainstream media backers have repeatedly asked Sanders if his ultimate goal was to push her more to the left, implying that he would never beat the system (and he didn’t). We all better hope that he actually has turned her into a liberal, because if she goes back to the same neocon, corporatist platform she started this campaign with, the economic inequality we all face will only get worse. Now excuse me while I go work two jobs and go to night school for my Master’s degree that’ll put me another $50,000 in debt while I pay $1300 a month to rent an apartment.

  • Dencal26

There is a huge difference. Obama was running for President not 1st Lady

    • El Ahr

A fortiori, that does not help your case.

  • David Pacansky

Nice try libs, how about explaining this one away from a year prior?
    https://www.facebook.com/joshua.feuerstein.5/videos/805671269535557/?pnref=story

    • http://bannedsorcery.com/ Bryce Anderson

Same answer as in the article above. Duval is a friend of Obama’s and sometimes a collaborator on his speeches. It may very well be that it was Duval who wrote the line into Obama’s speech.

Nobody on the Trump campaign is getting any similar assistance from Michelle Obama.

      • FlyoverGuy

So, your story is that the President didn’t do anything wrong but but that’s ok because he immediately owned up to it?

        LOL.

        • Brian Lee

Its not the crime, its the cover up.

          • FlyoverGuy

            LOL.

Actually, it is neither the crime nor the coverup for you. For you, it is whatever silly, inconsistent argument serves your party line. Amiright? : )

          • Brian Lee

            pot meet kettle

          • FlyoverGuy

But I’ve neither defended Melania Trump nor criticized the President. All I’ve done is point out Bryce’s and your hyper partisanship.

You’ve no idea what my party line is, or if I have one.

To further prove my point, you accuse me of “pot meet kettle”, despite the fact that I’ve said nothing directly about either case. LOL.

I appreciate your help in making my argument clear.

          • southshoreasfarasIcouldgo

unless you’re Hillary. Then you get some pondscum likeTingles to slime the mother of a murdered SEAL.

    • http://bannedsorcery.com/ Bryce Anderson

I’d also note the striking difference in behavior. When the mistake was discovered, Obama immediately owned up to it. We didn’t get this litany of conflicting, absurd denials that we’re getting from the Trump campaign. Really, they’re behaving like petulant children.

      • Christine

Isnt that the basis of their entire campaign though?

    • CVBeethoven

You must look up the definition of ‘plagiarism’. If someone shares a line with you, and you use it, it’s not plagiarism. Agreed Obama should have said “As my good friend Duval Patrick said…’, to remain 100% above board, but not doing so does not equate to plagiarism.

      • mstmompj

On the academic front, that’s completely untrue. You can’t copy wording from your friend’s paper, turn it in as if it were your own writing, and tell the teacher that “it’s not plagiarism, because my friend gave me permission.” (Indeed, in the classroom setting, the friend who gave you his/her paper to copy would be in trouble as well.)

        • CVBeethoven

A political speech isn’t an academic paper. But I reckon in this case, Obama probably wouldn’t have been up for academic fraud because the borrowed statements were rhetoric, not conclusions. Of course the same would be said of Melanias speech.

      • Jacob

As you say- Obama “should have said” – and the Trump campaign has taken responsibility of the issue. SO what the hell is the difference? OH I know— because Michelle is the enemy of Trump- good try! That doesn’t hold up in court—which reminds me, this is an immaterial argument. Now, lets consider the mistakes that Hillary made while Sec of State. “GET OVER IT”…says Hillary–it was a movie that caused the Benghazi ambush- Susan Rice, speaking for Hillary (so that Hillary could save her own political skin).

        • CVBeethoven

Except the Trump campaign has done anything BUT taken responsibility, at least in the first 24 hours. They ranged from denial to blaming Hillary.

    • Renfield

“Libs”? Cute. Who’d you steal that incredibly clever term from?

      • southshoreasfarasIcouldgo

the same people who gave us “Bushit”, Trumpf, Alfred E Neuman memes, misspelling of the word potato and the quantum mechanics analysis of the word “is”.

  • Don Pierce

Explanations for Melania: 1. Plagiarism is the sincerest form of flattery. 2. Michelle actually is an alien time traveler and stole her speech from Me. 3. The speechwriter was a Democrat plant. 4. I did’t say those things. 5. I did not have sex with that man. 6….

  • armoredsaint

I wonder what happens when you knuckleheads realize that Melania borrowed from Michelle Obama who plagiarized as well from Laura Bush and the RNC 2004 speech. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A50438-2004Aug31.html

    • kububeach

      Nice try, dumbass

      • cottontail

One reason I don’t often go to this site is because there are too many rude comments like yours. Let’s have a civil conversation about our country’s future without the nasty name calling.

  • steve90806

It’s appalling that when Obama does it everything is business as usual. When a conservative does it, liberals lose their minds. The “news” is biased as usual.

    • xiromisho

I don’t recall Obama taking things from people who weren’t working alongside him and incorporating them into his speeches.

regardless this is still a fluff piece and means nothing to anyone even if Mrs. Trump did, indeed, end up repeating a speech from Michelle Obama.

It’s really agitating, I think the Media is getting very lax in it’s competency. If they aren’t careful Trump is going to win this thing, and Trump and Hilary certainly don’t want that.

      • southshoreasfarasIcouldgo

Remind me again how many cases Barack had published in the Harvard Law Review before it struck someone that they were overdue for an African American Editor? Oh yes, that would be………ZERO.

    • Nevershrillary

That’s because liberals have no morals.

      • cottontail

WRONG…there is no monopoly on morals on either party…good and bad people in both…same as the general population.

        • Nevershrillary

          I wasnt taliking about parties

      • 7worldtraveler

Of course not! We’ve been taking lessons from Denny “Pedophile” Hastert, three times married Trump, Gingrich, Limbaugh, (whoops! Rush is 4 times married & a deaf drug addict to boot!) Adulterer Mark “Hiking the Appalachian Trail” Sanford, Larry “Wide Stance” Craig, Mark “Pages” Foley, Arnold “Baby Daddy” Schwarzenegger, David “NOLA Madam” Vitter, John “Staffer Affair” Ensign…

Wait a minute– those aren’t immoral Democrats– they’re family values RepubliCONS!

        • armyisnumber1

Don’t you have time to get a real life?

        • Nevershrillary

.and liberals dont believe any of things are immoral unless it is a republican doing it.

    • David Burman

It was business as usual because the GOP was not smart enough to bring it up. If they had realized it at the time, they most definitely would have made a big deal about it.

      • Jacob

Once again- you folks don’t understand the term immateriality vs substance

    • JVW

I would love to see Spencer Buell go one of his college professors and say, “It’s totally OK that I plagiarized my term paper because I plagiarized it from a friend who encouraged me to do so!” I’m sure that would fly.

      • southshoreasfarasIcouldgo

knowing BoMag they’re both under 30.

  • Joseph Jones

Hahaha dbl standard. I know that deval speech. Boston, you’re doing it wrong…

  • hogprint

Baston Rag, needs to break out a dictionary and look up Plagiarism. What Obama did was textbook definition…even if AFTER the fact Patrick gave him a wee bit of cover, he still did not credit the ORIGINAL writer of his speech. Case closed. Nice try though! 🙂

    • David Burman

And both plagiarism from others including MLK and JFK.

      • 7worldtraveler

The fat in your neck is blocking your carotids. You are WRONG.

        • armyisnumber1

You are a disgusting fat pig yourself.

  • https://www.arthur-in-the-garden.com Arthur in the Garden!

    They both were quoting MLK.

  • MiuMiu

The Dems should put out a statement that they’re thrilled that Melania Trump has the same values as Michelle Obama, The President and My Litle Pony.

    • Nevershrillary

The difference is that when Melania says it it is more believable because democrat policies do not live up to their rhetoric

      • cottontail

wrong! He improved the economy; he restored the automobile industry; he produced healthcare coverage for 29,000,000 Americans who had none; he got our boys out of Iraq (as the American people wanted him to); he restored our reputation abroad…citizens around the world (and in Canada and Mexico) admire our president. That’s just a few things. DJT can’t even run a convention never mind a country!

        • Nevershrillary

Admiration is not synonymous with respect. “Our boys” how sexist of you. By the way we are back in Iraq and still in Afghanistan. You should keep up. The Healthcare is a debacle. Since when are democrats OK with bailing out private corporations. The car companies should have been allowed to file for bankruptcy. However the dems wanted to save the unions and we all know why that is. The only reason the economy is doing OK is because we have been printing money like crazy. It will catch up with us but Obama will be long gone by then. Interests rates are the lowest ever. The economy should be absolutely booming but we have had the smallest growth ever after a recession. The only people getting rich is wall street and billionaires which seems extremely ironic since Obama is always railing against both.

          • 7worldtraveler

Getting millions more covered by health care is a debacle? Record stock market is bad? You are an imbecile if you think the car companies should have been allowed to go bankrupt. Those are so many jobs and tax revenues, saved, not to mention the knock-on effect of homes being saved. We are NOT printing money. There is a REASON the US currency is the world reserve currency. You’re one of Trump’s beloved “poorly educated” all right.

          • Josh

Please don’t vote for Hillary “repeal the Glass-Steagal Act and institute TPP to give big pharma the ability to self-govern” Clinton after you say things like this.

          • armyisnumber1

Could not have said it better. You are correct, they are printing up new money to try and make themselves look good. Obama has doubled our debt in 8 years. He is a loser.

        • armyisnumber1

The people under his healthcare are paying double of what they used to. You are so off base there. Obama has done NOTHING for America. He should be held for treason. He hates our country.

      • armyisnumber1

        TRUE

  • David Burman

Obama and Patrick with both plagarizing other people (eg. MLK, JFK, etc).

    • 7worldtraveler

They cited them, fat boy, so it isn’t plagiarism at all. Keep working on your GED.

      • armyisnumber1

You are one mean spirited piece of crap. You must be one of the members of Hillary’s new running mate from the KKK. Grow up, moron.

  • Ben Brooks

I don’t think it is a big deal all the way around. These are soft comments that were not lifted word for word. Having said that, arguing that the same person wrote them doesn’t make it any better even with permission. Speech writers are not the deliverer of the message which is who plagiarises- not the speech writer.. You can plagiarize even if you have permission if you don’t cite them. There is even such a thing as self-plagiarism in some circumstances. This article is just a rationalization to try to justify a position. I will go back to my main point- this is not a big deal though as not word-for-word (even if it is it is a small portion). Michelle Obama didn’t invent the ideas presented so she doesn’t have ownership. In fact she likely got this as noted elsewhere from Rob Marsh who probably used the idea from someone else. And do you really own the idea that you were raised with values? I don’t know how you plagiarize that idea…..

    • 7worldtraveler

Are you an IDIOT? They were absolutely word for word!

      • 7worldtraveler

But you are a Trump supporter. Never mind. I answered my own question.

  • No John

How dead is this beaten horse?

    • Daisy21

It is quite dead other than in the minds of CNN and MSNBC anchors, who have still been obsessing on the story 2 days after it happened.
Now, did they spend that much time on the plagiarism conducted by Barack Obama, the media darling?

  • Gmama

    SHE is not the candidate.

Anyone want to compare her honesty and integrity with Bill “meaning of the word “is” and “I did not have sex with that woman”, Clinton. As far as I know there are no civil rights (sexual harassment) suits against Mrs. Trump.

    • Nevershrillary

      Exactly.

    • Daniel

Classic dodge. No one is claiming Bill didn’t lie about all that…..what…18 years ago? It’s old news. And nor is HE the candidate, anyway. So….if you don’t like people bringing Melania up…why bring up Bill? Pot…kettle….etc.

And if you’re so concerned about sexual harassment…Jill Harth has been very public about Donald Trump’s attempted rape of her.

But I suspect you’ll gloss over that because…..well, why exactly? Seriously. If sexual assault/harassment is bad, then it’s bad when Bill did it, and bad when Trump did it. So then ask why you’re ok with one person doing it and not another.

      • armyisnumber1

Read the many books by the Secret Service. During the Clinton administration, OUR WHITE HOUSE was more of a whore house with everyone having affairs all over the place in there. They were also dirty people with food, drinks, pizza boxes all over the place and even the SS say Hillary is not suitable for POTUS with her explosive temper and her mental problems.

  • Daisy21

Another big difference is that Obama and Biden were actual candidates who engaged in plagiarism. Mrs. Trump is not a candidate. Now, it is interesting that the media, which was in love with candidate Barack Obama, did not spend 24/7 obsessing over his plagiarism as they have doing with the Mrs. Trump story.

    • 7worldtraveler

Do you care that Malaria LIED about her degree? She is a dumb bunny LIAR.

      • Daisy21

As compared to the dumb bunny liar that your party has nominated?
And are you actually saying that people who don’t have college degrees are ‘dumb bunnies”? How elitist of you….

      • armyisnumber1

        WRONG

  • Jacob

Once again the media, just like Hillary doesnt know the difference between the Letter of the Law and the Spirit of the Law.
In this case it is a harmless yet careless speech by the “wanna-be” 1st lady….immaterial.
In the case of Hillary- email scandal and Benghazi it is material- bad decisions jeopardize real lives. But MSM doesnt get it.

    • cottontail

You guys keep distorting the Benghazi situation. Hearings (long hours of them) absolved HRC from the problems in security in Benghazi, in fact, it was the Republican congress that refused to fund the requested budget that would have enhanced security. Look…not every problem in the world, first, second and third worlds, have been the fault of Hillary Clinton…as much as you all try to blame her. And…if you want to start blaming…how about Bush 43 and his buddy Cheney who got us (and the world) into this sorry mess. No matter..the Trump campaign is imploding with incompetence. We see it as Americans and don’t want that hand on any buttons…even the door bell to the White House. Not going to happen.

      • armyisnumber1

YOU NEED TO DO YOUR HOMEWORK or go and watch the movie 13 HOURS. Hillary refused them help when they were begging for it. Hillary, that amoral degenerate LIED TO THE PARENTS OF THE BENGHAZI FOUR. KARMA will get her someday, you’ll see.

        • cottontail

Nol…hou need to do your homework. You are believing the lies of the radical republicans. They will destroy our country…have already begun

    • forby

who gives a fuck about BEnghazi. it was a bunch of CIA fuckwits that got killed because they were torturing people in Libya and got found out. But you morons still think the USA has the right to torture people so you can not see past your own racism.

  • Rappin Duke

Using someone else’s words without attribution is PLAGARISM. No matter how you want to spin it (“repackaging his words”, “having his friend’s permission”, etc.) is still PLAGARISM and the genius Constitutional Scholar should have known better.

    • http://www.urban-society.de/ hassia

plagiarism is defined as 15 words of more in a sentence. Sorry.

      • Rappin Duke

Hmm, so Melania did not plagarize Michelle, right? Since not one of the sentences she uttered was more than 15 words, it COULD NOT have been plagarism in your book. Sorry.

        • oilburner

That was satire. It *had* to be.

Try 23 words. Further her “speech” writer just admitted using Michelle Obama’s speech , which kind of renders your concerns moot.

          • Rappin Duke

Yes, and PLAGARISM has no word limit, dumbass. Plagarism is defined as using someone else’s word without attribution. Like Melania did and Barack did and Biden did.

          • http://www.urban-society.de/ hassia

You trying to put Obama in the same as Melania is mental gymnastics at best. Biden dropped out of the race because of his plagiarism. Obama released his transcript. Melania, said she wrote it. Now she is saying her speech writer wrote it. “dumbass.” .

          • Rappin Duke

No, YOU exhibiting this faux outrage over Melania’s plagarism and EXCUSING Obama’s. Liberal HYPOCRISY at its best, DUMBASS.

          • http://www.urban-society.de/ hassia

Dumbass, I thought your name was Rappin Duke?

          • Rappin Duke

You thought? That should be celebrated regardless of the incorrect result of such action.

          • 7worldtraveler

GFY, AH. No one else would.

          • Rappin Duke

What a wonderfully tolerant response from a liberal. Bring that big mouth over here and I’ll show what good it is for.

          • 7worldtraveler

Hahahaha! Thin skin, just like Trump!

          • Rappin Duke

Hahahahahaha, just another moronic, liberal talking point. Whadda dipshit you are.

          • armyisnumber1

            NOT NICE. GROW UP

          • Nevershrillary

Yes Melania got some lines from the first ladies 2008 speech. The lines were very generic. Also Last I heard she isn’t running for any office.

      • forby

hahahah what a load of shit. I love how morons just make shit up. thing is they are so stupid they believe it themselves. 15 words yeah that makes sense.

        • http://www.urban-society.de/ hassia

If that were the case anytime you spoke you would be charged with plagiarism. Sorry.

          • forby

wow, you are not very bright are you.

    • http://www.urban-society.de/ hassia

Also she lied and said she wrote it, strange now someone else wrote it. I am confused.

      • Rappin Duke

And Barack lied saying he was “inspired” by Deval Patrick’s words (while HIS speech writer’s wrote his speech) and then after, the story was he had “permission”. Still is PLAGARISM, not matter what his excuse, lies or rationale.

        • http://www.urban-society.de/ hassia

Fact is she said she wrote it. She didn’t, or did she?

          • Rappin Duke

Barack says he wrote HIS speeches, yet speech writers write them. Your point?

          • http://www.urban-society.de/ hassia

So she didn’t write the speech?

          • Rappin Duke

SHe had speech writers just like your boy Obama, his wife Michelle, the Crone and EVERY POLITICIAN you dipshit. Now, it is generally a good idea to have a POINT when you post. Yours is…..?

          • Rappin Duke

Here, ;et me type very slowly so that you can follow along. She daid she wrote it with as little help as possible. Comprende, bolond?

          • Rappin Duke

And, yet YOU will blithely excuse, rationalize, ignore and lap up ALL OF THE LIES Hillary and Obama have fed you. Fuqqing, ignorant Progressives.

          • 7worldtraveler

He never said that. GFY, AH.

          • Rappin Duke

Sure he did. YOU just choose to ignore his faults, you fuqqing moron.

          • 7worldtraveler

Now run along to your KKK meeting, Rappin Duke, you imbecile!

          • Rappin Duke

Yes, the tired old “bigot” call. You’re a decade behind in the Progressive taunts, nancy.

  • Josh

Deval Patrick, 6/3/2006: “I’m not asking anybody to take a chance on me. I’m asking you to take a chance on your own aspirations.”

Barack Obama, 11/2/2007: “I’m not just asking you to take a chance on me. I’m also asking you to take a chance on your own aspirations.”

I voted for Obama twice, but we have to be unbiased about these things.

    • LifeIsDiving

did you read the article? partick told him to use it

      • daytonenglish

It’s still plagiarism, even if the author gives permission and you fail to cite them.

      • Josh

They weren’t his words. Obama ran for president with something he didn’t write. I don’t think we should be screaming “burn the witch” without recognizing that hundreds of people did it before her, including Obama. The first presidential speech writer was Judson Welliver, who started writing President Harding’s speeches in 1921.

We need to leave this shit alone. All it is is political misdirection to draw our attention away from important issues and actual events that will shape our country in the future. Like bombing Syria and killing children. She’s just a dumb trophy wife, she won’t have any pull whatsoever.

      • armyisnumber1

Of course Deval came to Obama’s rescue AFTER he was caught. Obama was the worst in modern times of copying everyone and Michelle did so too. Just google it.

    • armyisnumber1

You voted for that moron twice. You nee to be slapped off the side of your head to knock some sense into it.

  • Josh

Oh by the way, the US bombed a bunch of civilians in Manbij, Syria, on Monday and Tuesday. 56 civilians were killed, including 11 children. Don’t worry, it’s not an act of terrorism because we’re the good guys. It’s only terrorism when some non-whites do it to us in Murica. It’s okay when Muricans do it.

Sorry to intrude on the deep discussion about a bimbo who read a script from a teleprompter and is part of this puppet show election the establishment is putting on to misdirect you from real issues.

    • Nathan Stewart

Hate to break it to you, but those air strikes were ordered and approved by our non-white President who doesn’t agree that we’re the good guys. Now, what was that about an act of terrorism?

      • Josh

What are you trying to say? Are you saying Obama is a Muslim and therefore a terrorist? Or that black people are all criminals? Are you just telling me that you don’t understand satire? I forgot to hit my Sarcasm Lock key before typing, so I guess it’s my fault that you’re uselessly trying to argue something glaringly obvious.

      • armyisnumber1

Obama is the most UNPATRIOTIC president that America has ever had. Hillary is right there with him. Two losers.

        • Noah

Hillary hasn’t been a President, nummy.

I’ll take a UNPATRIOTIC president like O over one that leads us into a war that kills thousands of our soldiers, and ultimately millions in the M.E.

And I worked for the guy.

Btw, LEARN to use caps correctly.

          • gaspar

            Goodbye.

    • Noah

      Yup.

      Nathan is quite confused.

      ‘I guess a non-white President….’

      Ugh, nm. Racist conservative.

  • baileysuep
  • farmer93

Oh, really? Plagiarism is plagiarism and Obama IS NOT the exception.

    • LifeIsDiving

when the person tells you to use it ….it is not the same…read

      • armyisnumber1

Of course AFTER Obama was caught, Deval came to his rescue. All enemies stick together. Thank God Deval is gone and can’t wait for Obama to leave.

        • Noah

          They aren’t enemies, dummy.

It must be fun loving a country that elects black men to multiple terms.

          Control issues?

  • Stephen J. O’Rourke

You should have stopped the headline after ……plagiarism is NOTHNG

  • USAFR

They all lie, both sides. Still voting Democrat, Trump sucks.

    • gaspar

Your vote will help kill this country.

  • armyisnumber1

I Refuse to vote for Hillary. Too many people have died in her administration if they did not agree with the witch – just do your homework on that one. She caused American emails of national security to fall into the hands of the enemy. I think it is safe to say that she is the enemy. Her track record shows that she has not accomplished anything. I am willing to give Trump a vote and see if he can do better. Voting for Hillary is like giving a vote to ISIS. TREASON BY HILLARY.

    • Noah

It must be nice having zero critical thinking skills.

Hill is more Hawkish than Trump, btw.

      • gaspar

Hillary clinton is a grifter who, with her “husband”, has committed oncountable crimes while “serving” America.
If she gets into the White House, this country id finished.
If you vote for her, you are as guilty as she is.

        • Noah

Finished, lol. Come back to reality. It’ll be like the last 8 years.

Im not voting for her, but Trump is way worse.

He isn’t even that successful in business.
