Police: Fugitive Sex Offender Caught Singing Karaoke in Chelmsford
Ronald Duby was named “Fugitive of the Week” just a few days earlier.
A wanted sex offender was caught Saturday night, police say, after he was spotted singing at a Chelmsford karaoke bar—just a few days after he was named the U.S. Marshals’ “Fugitive of the Week.”
Police arrested Ronald Duby Jr., 43, after a patron at the Princeton Street watering hole recognized him as a contestant and alerted authorities, police said. Duby was wanted on an outstanding warrant in Hillsborough County, New Hampshire for failing to appear in court on a charge of failing to register as a sex offender.
Duby was required to register as a sex offender following his 1995 conviction for aggravated felonious sexual assault against a victim younger than 13, police said. He last resided in Nashua, but had ties to Lebanon, as well as White River Junction and Springfield, Vermont.
Duby was scheduled to appear in Lowell District Court on Monday. Police did not disclose what song Duby was allegedly caught singing.
