Literary Lights Dinner
The Associates of the Boston Public Library (BPL) presented its 22nd annual "Literary Lights Dinner" on 4/18 in the Grand Ballroom of the Boston Park Plaza Hotel. The elegant, black-tie and candle arbor-lit dinner - attended by over 350 BPL guests and supporters - featured noted Nantucket author Nathaniel Philbrick presenting the evening's keynote address. Eight other accomplished writers; poet Dan Chiasson, novelist Stona Fitch, historian Jill Lepore, novelist and essayist Jonathan Lethem, non-fiction author Ben Mezrich, author and diplomat Rory Stewart, and Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist Elizabeth Strout, all received awards. All proceeds from Literary Lights will benefit the David McCullough Conservation Fund for the BPL's Special Collections and special programs at the library.
