Island Creek Oyster Festival

On 9/11 the afternoon-long, sustainable oyster festival was held on Duxbury Beach. Now in its fifth year, the Festival highlights the best in local oysters, food, music, and beer, with all proceeds benefiting the Island Creek Oysters Foundation. Twenty of Boston's most celebrated chefs, including Jody Adams, Chris Schlesinger, Jeremy Sewall, and Jasper White were dishing out small tastings made from locally sourced ingredients. Harpoon Brewery poured the beer and wine was provided by Au Bon Climat and Pascal Jolivet. More than 30,000 Island Creek oysters were served, all of which were donated and shucked by IC farmers as well as dozens of volunteer shuckers from up and down the East Coast.
