On November 10th, the Crittenton Women’s Union held its fifth anniversary gala at WGBH. In hopes to help improve poverty levels, the gala, titled “Live! Work! Thrive! Celebrating 5 Years of Innovation,” raised more than $225,000 and featured former president of Walmart Foundation and of Lesley University, Dr. Margaret Mckenna, as a speaker. Among the 300 guests in support of the cause were Boston Harbor Association President Vivien Li, Cambridge Symphony Orchestra President Kwame Lewis, former gubernatorial candidate Shannon O’Brien, Brighton Rep. Kevin Honan, and Ellen Zane, the recently retired president and CEO of Tufts Medical Center.
