MassArt’s 23rd Annual Benefit Art Auction

Saturday, April 14th marked MassArt's 23rd Annual Benefit Art Auction held at MassArt's Bakalar and Paine Galleries in Boston.   Between the live auction and three silent auction, the nearly 800 attendees raised a record $732,000 for scholarships, and with 400 pieces of art donated by artists and galleries specifically for the event, it was a banner year for MassArt. Works auctioned off included pieces by Julian Opie, Cynthia Packard, Wolf Kahn and Alex Katz — who will debut an exhibit this spring at the MFA.   The event also included a surprise performance by artist Zayde Buti and a "Sh*t Artists Say" video parody.
