Brookwood Community Farm Field-to-Table Dinner

Brookwood Community Farm (situated on two sites: a 70-acre parcel of land within the Blue Hills Reservation and the 90-acre Bradley Estate owned by the Trustees of Reservations - both farmed for generations) hosted its 3rd annual Field-to-Table Farm Dinner for 35 invited friends and supporters on Thursday, Aug. 9th. Guests were seated at one long table set up alongside the farm’s verdant fields.

The evening was the brainstorm of Suzanne Lombardi, chef/owner of The Plate restaurant in Milton and board member of the farm. Lombardi and her volunteer team created a gourmet, 4 course, dinner on site using fresh produce from Brookwood and other ingredients - including fruit, cheese, cream, wine and beer - supplied by other local growers and producers. The evening was held in support of the farm’s mission to reclaim and restore underutilized local farmland, to strengthen Boston’s local food system, and to improve access to fresh food for local underserved communities.

Brookwood also operates a 240-member CSA (Community Sustainable Agriculture) program, where members receive weekly shares of the farm’s harvest during the growing seasons.
