David Ortiz Celebrity Golf Classic

Hosted by Red Sox Slugger "Big Papi" in his home country of the Dominican Republic, this three-day destination charity event had its most successful year to date, raising funds above and beyond its goal with the help of a few of high-ticket auction items donated by guests in attendance. Items included a lunch date with MLB Networks' fresh face reporter Heidi Watney and private gymnastics lessons with U.S. Olympic gold medalist Aly Raisman, which both were auctioned off for close to $10,000. Proceeds from the event, which took place at Sanctuary Resort and Punta Espada Golf Course in Punta Cana, directly benefit the David Ortiz Children's Fund, which provides pediatric healthcare to children in New England and Dominican Republic.
