"Come Together For Courage" Benefit at the Liberty Hotel

The Max Warburg Courage Curriculum celebrated its 22nd anniversary in style at the Liberty Hotel, as nearly 200 longstanding supporters and friends came together in support of the organization’s middle and high school literacy and character development programs. On Saturday, February 9th, guests enjoyed a variety of donated wines and a tasty Asian buffet, all while celebrating the organization’s continued growth on a local, national and international level. In addition to partnering with over 60 schools in Boston and surrounding communities, the organization works with schools in cities such as New York, Houston, Seattle, Detroit, Birmingham, Atlanta, and Chicago.  “The Max” also has partnerships with educators in eight countries abroad, including Thailand, Cambodia, Mozambique, the United Kingdom, and Pakistan. Program alumna and North Quincy High School senior Heather Quigley shared powerful reflections on the impact the Courage Curriculum has had on her life.  Ms. Quigley recently joined over 100 other volunteers serving as essay judges, in preparation for the organization’s annual publication The Courage of Boston’s Children.  Photos by Roger Farrington
