On 6/28, Great Scott bar was host to the Chili Takedown, a chili making competition open to the public. Pork, beef, or veggie, and bean or no-bean, all chili variations were welcome. With more than 15 recipes entered, Great Scott was packed with guests eager to test and vote on their favorite chili.

On 06/22, all the glitterati came out for the Doug Flutie, Jr. Celebrity Golf Classic Pre-tournament Party at the Hard Rock Café, which was presented by Sports Illustrated. Doug Flutie performed on the drums with The Flutie Brothers Band, and there was a cocktail reception, and a live and silent auction featuring exciting getaway packages and authentic autographed sports memorabilia. The following afternoon, on 06/23, golfers teed off at Pinehills Country Club in Plymouth to raise funds for the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism.

On 6/20, Grammy Award winning legend Patti LaBelle performed a live, intimate concert for Joslin Diabetes Center's Singing for a Cure event to raise money for the High Hopes Fund. There was also an opening performance by Ernie & the Automatics and R&B performer LINK.

On 6/15, Barbershop Lounge celebrated one year of fine men’s grooming on Newbury Street this month, with an exclusive one-year anniversary party presented with Boldfacers.com and featuring pool shark Tim “Trickshot” Chin. VIP clients and guest mixed and mingled in the ultimate men’s den, sharpened their pool skills and ogled over Ferraris and Maseratis. The event was sponsored by Heineken, French Rabbit Wines, Ciao Bella, Crammed Media and Ferrari-Maserati of New England.
