The Institute of Contemporary art threw its second anniversary party on 12/10 to celebrate new American fashion designers. In attendance were designers Brian Reyes, Ashley Olsen, Maria Cornejo, Tuleh, Sari Gueron, Chris Benz, Jason Wu, Magda Berliner, Elise Overland, and Lyn Devon. Photos by Lisa Richov.
 
Boston Center for Adult Education's Goodbye to the Gamble: A Final Toast was held at the Gamble mansion on 12/11. BCAE bid farewell to its home for the past 75 years, and will relocate to a new facility on 122 Arlington Street in March 2009.
 
In 1998, French fashion designer Anne Fontaine launched her brand in the U.S. with her first shop at the Heritage On The Garden. On 12/11, she returned to Boston to celebrate the shop's tenth anniversary with loyal customers, and to raise funds for the International Rett Syndrome Foundation. Photos by Roger Farrington.
 
On 12/08, some of Boston's notable writers got together at the Hotel Commonwealth for ReadBoston's Hometown Authors Reception to support Mayor Menino's ReadBoston program. Guests wined and dined with local authors and nabbed signed copies of their work.
 
The Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS hosted its Dining by Design fundraiser at Boston Design Center on 12/06. Boston's most extraordinary designers, artists, and personalities came together to showcase their remarkable talents for creating astonishing tabletop environments.
