Porsmouth Abbey Summer Program

Located on a stunning 500-acre campus on Rhode Island’s Narragansett Bay, seven miles from Newport, and with full use of Portsmouth Abbey School’s facilities, the Portsmouth Abbey Summer Program introduces students in grades 7-10 to the perfect mix of academics and fun, shared with peers from all over the world, that provides a good head start on the next school year. This year’s program will take place Sunday, June 26 to Saturday, July 23.

Our courses are intended to engage and enrich a student’s mind, while increasing facility with the skills and confidence necessary to be successful in school. Academic work takes place in a more relaxed setting than during the regular school year and with individual attention. Course offerings include Forensic Science, Film and History, Robotics, Digital Sound Studio, The Existence of God, and Creative Writing, as well as Test Prep, Public Speaking, Algebra, Geometry, Marine Biology, and more. Afternoons are designed to be fun and to expose students to new experiences.

In addition to sports, including sailing and equestrian, activities include marine ecology, landscape painting, and outdoor education. Weekly visits to nearby beaches, and weekend field trips to Six Flags, Martha’s Vineyard, and more, round out an exceptional month of learning and seaside fun. Visit portsmouthabbey.org/summer or on Facebook. Visit the sites of these esteemed local summer camp options and make plans for your child today!
