In the Fast Lane
A professional collector gears up for a wild ride.

As the Boston Public Library’s keeper of special collections, Susan Glover spends her days among millions of antique books, manuscripts, prints, and photographs. But in her off time, she pines for a higher-octane objet d’art—specifically, this 2015 Corvette Stingray convertible, which has the speed, power, and, of course, provenance to give this stylish preservationist a thrill. “They are just the most fun cars to drive,” says Glover, who fell in love with the classic ride after taking a 1994 Corvette for a spin one day. “I never get behind the wheel of a Corvette without my heart beating a little faster and my smile beaming a bit broader.”
