This Connecticut escape feels rustic and relaxed, with three stories of wooded views and shabby-chic interiors spaces. Victorian in style, the home feels like a treehouse, and has a front porch and a second floor patio. Beamed ceilings, weathered hardwood floors and oriental rugs set the tone inside. The kitchen bay window has a reading area, and the bathroom includes a claw-foot tub. On the third floor, the living area has high ceilings and a single sofa bed. Although the home, built in 1870, has historic charm to spare, it also has reliable plumbing and electricity. You’ll know you’ve arrived when you reach the covered bridge over the Housatonic River. Visit the farmers market across the street, and check out antique shops and eateries in Kent, Lakeville, Litchfield, Great Barrington, and Millerton.
