New plans for a housing complex in Charlestown were released on Friday, and it looks to be one of the city’s largest developments in years. Dubbed “One Charlestown,” the complex will take up almost 28 acres and span 13 blocks.

One Charlestown will replace a 1,100-unit Bunker Hill affordable housing project to create 3,200 new apartments and condos in a mixed-income residential development. Corcoran-SunCal, in partnership with the Boston Housing Authority, filed the plans with the Boston Planning and Development Agency on Friday.

The $1 billion project will create two new parks, a new network of streets, underground parking, and space for retail stores. Each building will contain a open spaces and a courtyard with trees. See renderings of the project, which is now in review, below.
