Get in the Holiday Spirit with Boston’s Best-Decorated Hotel Lobbies

There's a tree in the grand hotel, one in the park as well.

The only real way to tackle holiday shopping in the city is to duck in and out of Boston’s grandest hotels while you’re at it. (We recommend visiting two stores, then a hotel lobby, two more stores, then a lobby…get the idea?)

When hotels deck the halls, they go all out. Think: shiny ornaments, ribbon, twinkling lights, and plenty of poinsettias. Favorites like the Lenox and the Omni Parker House make for cozy places to enjoy some cocoa, while the Fairmont Copley Plaza and the Taj are perfect spots to stand, look up, and just admire. Beacon Hill’s Liberty Hotel is worth its own trip—their famous upside down Christmas trees never get old, no matter how many times you’ve seen them.

Which is the merriest lobby of all? You be the judge—take a virtual tour of Boston’s best-decorated hotels below. (Warning: serious tree envy may occur.)

It’s golden ribbons galore at the always-elegant Taj this year.

Plus, the Taj’s fresh flower display is a marvel on its own.

Don’t let the season pass you by without making a trip out to see the classic updside down Christmas trees at the Liberty Hotel.

Check out the tree at the Fairmont Copley Plaza and you might have a run-in with birthday girl Carly Copley.

Modern and classic decorations meet at the Omni Parker House.

Kick back seaside (and tree-side) at the Boston Harbor Hotel in between shopping trips.

Keep an eye out for the larger-than-life nutcracker at the entrance of the Ritz Carlton.

The lobby of the Four Seasons is picture perfect (as well as a perfect picture backdrop).
