You could say local jewelry maker Donna Veverka holds the whole world in her hands. Inspired by temples, amphitheaters, and other classic and historical buildings, the University of the Arts grad crafts stunning jewelry that captures the iconic aesthetic of grand and ancient architecture. She uses a primitive metal-forming technique known as lost-wax casting to create the shape of the sterling silver rings, which are custom fit to her clients, and carves the intricate details of the structures by hand. “Wearing these rings should be empowering,” she says of her work. “They’re scaled down, but it’s about being a part of these structures that normally tower above you.”
