Walk on the Wild Side
This screen-printed wooden bison head is valued at $6,000.
You won’t have to hunt this bison, but you will have to fight for it. Crafted by an artists’ collective from found wood, it’s one of about 50 pieces up for bid during Converse’s upcoming online auction benefiting the local nonprofit Artists for Humanity. “When the brand moved its headquarters to Boston, there was a need for us to have a connection to the city beyond just physically being here,” says Adam Cohn, Converse’s vice president of global brand design. That’s the goal of the company’s Lovejoy Art Benefit, which commissions artwork to display in Converse’s offices before auctioning it off. Ready to snag this lifelike sculpture? Better start target—ahem—bidding practice now.
Online preview begins 9/5; auction runs 9/12–9/26; paddle8.com/auction/AFH.
