Shopping Patch NYC Design in Boston
This exquisite SoWa home design boutique is a feast for the eyes.
For those who love discovering something unique in Boston, Patch NYC is a serious destination. Located through a brick courtyard at 46 Waltham Street in the South End, Patch NYC is the storefront for the international lifestyle brand developed by the artistic owners, Don Carney and John Ross. The pair are a power house of creative design talent and incredibly modest!
We have been tracking their success since we featured the study John designed for More or Less here. A collection of handmade scarves, original framed art, costume jewelry, fragrant soy candles, and unique home décor are beautifully displayed in vintage glass cases and artfully styled on repurposed furniture.
A collection of vintage 50-60’s Italian glass on a repurposed black china cabinet. Framed Patch NYC wood block prints hang in unison.
The fuscia wall is a striking backdrop for a collection of ceramic plates by Parisian designer, Natalie Lete, and Astier de Villatte. Don shared the exciting news of their next collaboration with Astier de Villatte for Maison & Objet which will be launched this September 7-11, 2012
Patch NYC has collaborated with national retail brands to create a range of art and design products. Currently, West Elm is selling a group of Don’s garden themed ink drawings in sepia (above) and Anthropologie stocks their Grand Game Wallpaper (below).
A garden arrangement of succulents are greeted by glass beetle ornaments. Black cap mushrooms are weighted soft-sculptures. Each are hand-stitched and finished with vintage button “spots”.
Above: One of a kind necklaces each tell a story, and look so wonderful draped over a vintage book.
If you are inspired by the treasure trove of creativity in the shop, then take a peek into Patch NYC studio ( just a few doors down). It is there that Don and John design the Patch NYC collections and share highlights on their blog.
