Table Talk Online + This Week's Edible Events

Brookline’s La Morra restaurant reopens this week after a fire in the kitchen shut them down back in early March. The damage was contained to the kitchen and duct work, thankfully, but the repairs were lengthy enough to require the staff to find temporary work elsewhere. (Tremont 647 and Gargoyle’s on the Square took many of the cooks in.) Chef-owner Josh Ziskin admits he might have watched a bit more television than usual these past few weeks but has kept himself busy catering a number of charity and private events. He and his wife, partner Jen Ziskin, also put on a pop-up dinner at the Boston Wine School on April 12. The dinner featured a number of classic La Morra dishes including a cavatelli primavera with ramp pesto and a whole pig porchetta (above), all of which Ziskin prepared with the help of his staff and the donation of various kitchens.

Look for the reopening (with a new spring menu) later this week or hit them up this weekend for their Mother’s Day brunch (details below).
