In exciting news for hardcore coffee nerds, Arlington-based small-batch coffee roastery and coffee house Barismo is opening a high-end coffee bar in Area IV. Dubbed dwellTime, the 4,000 sq ft space will seat 40 and offer both Barismo coffees and teas as well as product from guest roasters like Intelligentsia (exact roasters still to be decided).

While it’s exciting in and of itself that more Barismo beans are coming to Cambridge (you can already find them at spots like Picco, Toscanini’s, Channel Cafe and Simon’s), the team also will have some additional cool tricks ups their sleeves. Machinery-wise, dwellTime will be the first spot in the Boston area to use the Luminaire Lb-1, an energy-efficient pourover machine, and also the first to have the pressure-controlled Strada espresso machine by La Lamarzocco, a machine that Barismo barista Stephen Jaunzemis tells us looks like something “off the Star Trek Enterprise.”

Cold-brew iced coffee will be offered year-round, but Jaunzemis tells Chowder that come spring, dwellTime may start offering the chilled coffee from a tap, and may even bottle the stuff as well. Food-wise, expect pastries all day, and soups and salad at lunchtime. DwellTime will open at 364 Broadway in about three weeks.
