At the Next Chef Louie Night, Get a Lesson in Anatomy

Chef Louis DiBiccari, currently at the helm of Storyville in Back Bay (and formerly in charge of the kitchen at Sel de la Terre), just announced the latest installment in his recurring pop-up Iron Chef-meets-Kitchen Impossible dinner event Chef Louie Night, to take place on January 7 at the Boston Center for Adult Education.

In keeping with the event space, the four-course meal will have an education theme— twelve diners will be able to purchase tickets to spend the day in the kitchen with DiBiccari and his chef pals (I am told one will likely be Mike Bergin of L’Espalier) and help prep and cook a meal for 60 guests, and in the process learn about what it’s like to spend hours in a hot kitchen with trash-talking chef types.

Chef Louie Night always has a theme, which is voted on by the guests in advance. The options for this go-round are pretty promising: “French Classics,” “Anatomy,” or “Chemistry.” To me, that translates into: “Lots of butter,” “Lots of meat,” or “Lots of foam.” Tickets for the event are $125 to cook (limit: 12), $95 to sit at a chef’s table set up in the kitchen (limit: 12), or $75 for general admission, all of which includes four courses of food, wine, beer, and gratuity.
