This Monday, at long last, Tony Maws’s highly-anticipated follow-up to Craigie on Main, The Kirkland Tap & Trotter, will open to the public. (Actually, he’s right on time—six months ago, he promised us a “late-summer” opening, and now here we are. Impressive.) We could re-hash all of the details you’ve likely devoured at this point—the more-casual ambiance, the large wood-burning grill, the big beer list—but at this point, you just want to know what you’ll be eating, right? Behold, Maws’s debut menu, a lineup of neighborhood-friendly, more-approachable plates with a decidedly Craigie flair (see: pork neck, grilled salmon head, spiced carrot salad with “shoots and leaves”).

There’s also a bit of an Alsatian influence at play, with dishes like an Alsatian tarte flambe, pork belly and sausages with braised kraut, and said pork neck, served choucroute garni-styleIt’s a clever way to nod to Craigie’s more overt French touches, while showcasing heartier, more Germanic-style plates. Ahead, the menu in full.
