With November already upon us, it’s only a hop, skip and a turkey drumstick away from the holidays. Take preemptive action for the bingefests to come, and come out for these upcoming, stomach-stretching local food events:

Now-November 27: Mac Attack at Olde Magoun’s Saloon
Every Wednesday in November, comfort food enthusiasts may merrily descend on Magoun’s in Somerville for the saloon’s special Mac and Cheese menu, which offers both rarefied (think seared foie gras) and classical takes on the beloved pasta dish. November 18: Mean Creek Rolls Burritos at Anna’s Taqueria in Brookline
Anna’s final celebrity burrito-rollers for the year are Boston-based indie rockers Mean Creek. Swing by, hang with the band, and eat a burrito (or two) for charity. $10 per burrito. November 21: Overkill at the Cambridge Boat Club
The historic Cambridge Boat Club plays host to the aptly named “Overkill,” a charity feast in support of Lovin’ Spoonfuls, and the brainchild of Harvest’s Brian Mercury and Mary Dumont. Combining the culinary chutzpah of 13 local chefs, the event features a 12-course meal, a cocktail reception with passed appetizers from Post 390, and boozy punchbowls mixed by three local bartenders. $150 per person. November 21: Eat Red Meat, Change the Planet Dinner at UpStairs on the Square
This carnivore-friendly event proposes to debunk your myths about eating red meat. Harvard chemist Matheiu Lallonde and Alan Savory of The Savory Institute will take on the red meat debate at Harvard Law School’s Austin Hall, followed by dinner at UpStairs on the Square, featuring prime rib entrees made from local, grass-fed cows and a dessert of poached pears. $125 per person. November 22: Fourth Annual Local Craft Brewfest at the John J. Moakley Courthouse
Whether you’re new to the craft beer, or a microbrewery connoisseur, this beer festival in Boston’s trendy Fort Point neighborhood provides a lively distraction from the wintertime chill. Go for the unlimited beer tastings from the likes of Brewmaster Jack and Blue Hills Brewery, but stay for some delectable finger food and sweeping harbor views. Tickets $45 per person, $85 for two. November 29-December 27: Pop it Like it’s Hot at the Revere Hotel
Each Friday this December, Boston Common’s Revere Hotel will host a pay-what-you-will hot chocolate pop-up, with cocoa mix from Taza chocolate and unique flavors like “Boozy Candy Cane Cream Pie” and “Nutella with Banana Whipped Cream.” All proceeds go to The House for Little Wanderers. Every Friday, November 29-December 27, 3-6 p.m. 200 Stuart Street, Boston. 617-482-1800, reverehotel.com

November 30: Movember Must Ache Bash at Local 149 in South Boston
No-shave-November diehards are a sure sight at Local 149’s Must Ache Bash, where a gnarly stache may bag you a $400 door prize. The event features passed appetizers from 10 p.m. through midnight, as well as $5 drink specials all night. $5 cover at the door. December 3: Say Cheese at Piattini
Nibble on a curated selection of rare, Italian cheeses and make your own fresh mozzarella at Piattini’s Say Cheese event. December 11: Tenth Anniversary at La Morra
La Morra, Brookline Village’s intimate slice of Northern Italian cuisine, is marking a decade in business this December with a brand new cocktail menu: 10 different drinks for 10 years.
