The South is certainly in vogue. Lately, it seems that every time you turn around there’s another piece of fried chicken or smoked brisket tempting you. Well, the Lyons Group was paying attention. The owners of dozens of restaurant and nightlife ventures such as Kings Bowl, Lucky’s Lounge, and The Lansdowne Pub, is now opening its latest concept, a good ole’ fashion honky-tonk, right outside of Fenway Park.

Loretta’s Last Call, which opens tonight, is helmed by Zak Lindgren, a veteran Vermont chef who is a graduate of the New England Culinary Institute.  His menu features a surfeit of gluttonous guilty-pleasures like fried bologna, oyster po’ boys, biscuits with sausage gravy, and a Southern-style fish fry plate.

The interior, with its vintage jukebox, wagon wheel chandeliers, and Dolly Parton vinyl canvassing the walls, was conceived by Stephen Martyak of Studio Tyak, the same designer behind Boston Chops and The Sinclair. Besides it countrified soundtrack, Loretta’s Last Call will also feature live bluegrass, folk, and country music acts.

Loretta’s Last Call will be open from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. Brunch service will begin the weekend of June 28.
