All-Star Chefs Make English Muffin Pizzas and ‘Yo Mama’ Jokes

A crew of baller chefs are taking on a humbly exceptional snack food next week with an English Muffin Pizza Throwdown in Somerville.
Dan Crothers and Kyle Meekins of Stone & Skillet will provide their Medford-made, artisan English muffins for the event, hosted by Dimitra Murphy of Daddy Jones Bar. Boston ex-pat Samuel Monsour (author of American Burger Revival, pop-up king, former chef at jm Curley/Bogie’s Place) is joining the fray on a visit back from Los Angeles, along with sous chef Steven Hacker; plus locals Phillip Tang (Banyan Bar + Refuge), Doug Rodrigues (formerly of Tip Tap Room), Jade Elan Taylor (Asta), and Paul Desrochers (Boston Chops).
Classic hip hop provides the soundtrack for this fun-loving event—don’t let the “Yo Mama” joke tournament intimidate.
