Now that patio season is in full swing, it’s really time to break out the rosé. Pink wines can get a bad rap for being too sweet, but not all rosés are this way: some are crisp, many are dry, some bubbly, and some even a little tangy. You can even freeze your rosé and turn it into a froséif you’re into that. Some consider rosés to be the first style of wine ever made, too, with wine-making and trading practices dating back to 600 B.C.

So if you’re looking to drink pink this summer, here are a few area restaurants with rosé-related specials (and a bonus sake event, for good measure):

National Rosé Day at Marliave

National Rosé Day is technically June 11, but Marliave is celebrating tonight by pouring exclusive bottles of rosé from Provence, Tuscany, and Bandol, curated by wine director Melissa Healey. Tickets to this rosé celebration come with pairing hors d’oeuvres, and all the samples you can sip.

Wednesday, June 8, 6 p.m., $50; Marliave, 10 Bosworth St., Boston, 617-422-0004, marliave.com.

Pink Wine & Pintxos at Drink

Drink is switching gears next Sunday to serve up fresh tapas alongside bottles of rosé, including a featured Txakolina rosé from the Basque region, curated by executive wine director Cat Silirie. Everything will be individually priced at this pop-up tapas bar, so come parched and ready for some fine Spanish dining.

Sunday, June 19, noon-3 p.m.; Drink, 348 Congress St., Fort Point, 617-695-1806, drinkfortpoint.com.

Rosé Flight at Sportello

Wine director Cat Silirie is the mastermind at this Barbara Lynch Gruppo restaurant, too. All summer long, enjoy three small pours of some of the world’s best pink wines, hailing from Sicily, Puglia, and Sardinia.

Sportello, 348 Congress St., Fort Point, 617-737-1234, sportelloboston.com.

Santorini Sundays at Doretta Taverna & Raw Bar

Doretta Taverna not only has a new Sunday brunch menu, but also a fresh list of rosés from places like Côtes de Provence. Sip pink wine as you choose from brunch dishes like coffee caramel doughnuts, or brunch pizza, which comes topped with lamb meatballs, eggs, and pickled jalapeños. On June 12 and 19, there are also live music and afternoon fashion shows during Santorini Sundays. Check the restaurant’s website for a performance schedule.

 Brunch every Saturday + Sunday, noon-5 p.m.; Doretta Taverna & Raw Bar, 79 Park Plaza, 617-422-0008, dorettaboston.com.

Rosé Rumble at Puritan & Company

Puritan & Company’s upcoming Rosé Rumble will feature pink wines from all over the world, as well as food pairings by chef Will Gilson. The restaurant will host two tasting sessions for you to learn about and discuss these wines, and will share where to find them after the event.

Wednesday, July 13, 5:30-8 p.m., $75; Puritan & Company, 1166 Cambridge St., Cambridge, 617-615-6195, eventbrite.com.

BONUS: Sake Summer Social at Hojoko

Alright, so it’s not exactly rosé (or wine). But when brewers from Japan congregate in Boston to pour 13 varieties of of this refreshing beverage, it’s worth bringing it up. Representatives from Japanese breweries like Yuho and Rihaku will be around to answer any sake-related questions you have, as you throw a few back.

Friday, June 10, 8:30-10:30 p.m., $40; Hojoko, 1271 Boylston St., Fenway/Kenmore, 617-670-0507, eventbrite.com.
