UPDATE, July 26, noon: Missed out on Union Square Donuts + Batch ice cream sundaes this weekend? Never fear: They’re back again July 30-31.

PREVIOUSLY:

And now, in doughnuts-cum-ice cream news north of the Charles River: Union Square Donuts and Batch Ice Cream have teamed up this weekend to offer doughnut sundaes at the Union Square bakeshop.

Batch makes all-natural, hard-style ice cream right in Boston, with flavors like brown sugar, bourbon and pecan; cinnamon and chocolate bits; ginger; and caramelized banana and walnuts. It sells pints at Whole Foods, Shaw’s, American Provisions, Dave’s Fresh Pasta, and other local shops, but this weekend, founders Susie Parish and Veronica Janssens are sending over select flavors to to scoop on top of a cupful of Union Square Donut holes, and top with with bakeshop-made sauces and fresh, sweetened whipped cream. Union Square’s Belgian dark chocolate or sea salted bourbon caramel are the toppings to choose from, along with rainbow sprinkles—because you gotta have sprinkles.

The special is available Saturday, July 23, and Sunday, July 24 from noon-3 p.m., and again on July 30-31 (see update). Get ’em while they’re hot and fresh, and cold and creamy.
